How to apply
- How to apply
- The birmingham foundation has two annual grant cycles - spring and fall. Visit our website periodically to inquire about important dates pertaining to the grant cycles, or contact the office directly for more information. The birmingham foundation can only provide funding for organizations that operate within our geographic focus and must align to our singular area of focus, early childhood education and development. The birmingham foundation seeks to be a change agent for children and partners with organizations to achieve positive outcomes in south pittsburgh neighborhoods.
- Restrictions
- Grants are limited to organizations, which qualify as public charity for 501(C)(3) tax exemption. Grants are not normally made for operating budgets, deficits, fund-raising campaigns, general research, scholarships, political campaigns, or loans. Grants are not made to individuals, to other private foundations, for sectarian religious activities, or for the efforts to influence legislation unless grant-related. Grants are awarded for a limited period of time, such as 1-3 years. Most grant awards will be in the range of $2,500 to $50,000.
