The basic eligibility requirements for the adopt-a-school are as follows: A minimum of 50% of the students need to be part of the free or reduced lunch program or an equivalent "in need" federal or state program. And the school must be focused on serving children in one or more grades from pre- kindergarten through 8TH grade in the chicagoland area. School principals can apply online and will be required to fill out a request form. Only one request per site can be made each calendar year. Adopted schools cannot reapply for consideration in the following year.

Restrictions

To receive soft goods, organizations must be an operating sec 501C3 in good standing and located in illinois, northwest indiana, southeastern wisconsin or florida. Nonprofits are further vetted via telephone or video call to ensure each 501C3 organization's mission is aligned to serving those in need, that they have the staff or volunteer support necessary to pick-up the soft goods donated and are able to efficiently distribute the donated items to their clients, members, or constituents. Wee consider the size each nonprofit in terms of the number of goods donated to them. In-kind donations include clothing, underwear, socks, shoes, jackets and coats, boots, pajamas, bedding, towels, toiletries, personal care products and more. Il, in and wi must agree to pick-up their donated goods from CC's warehouse in il. Goods are direct shipped to florida.
