How to apply

An application inquiry form is required as part of the intake process for any new agencies or any agencies WHO have gone 18 months without foundation funding. The applicant inquiry form is available on the foundation website. Following review of the applicant inquiry form, the foundation team will reach out to the agency with next steps. The foundation uses a formal application, which May be accessed online at www.hcacaring.org.

Deadlines

Grant deadlines are approximately 12 weeks prior to quarterly board meetings (posted on website).

Restrictions

The middle tennessee fund provides grants in the focus areas of health and well being, primary care, basic needs, education and the arts to organizations that have an established relationship with healthcare, a demonstrated commitment to maximizing available resources and a reputation for meeting objectives and delivering quality services with caring and compassion within a 9 county geography in middle tennessee. The foundation does not consider requests for: Individuals or their projects, private foundations, political activities, advertising or sponsorships of events. As a matter of policy, the foundation does not ordinarily support: Organizations in their first three years of operation; individual public, private or parochial schools; churches. The foundation will support 501(C)(3) faith-based initiatives consistent with its mission and guidelines.

How to apply

For the 2025/2026 academic year, applications should be completed and submitted online in the ists application portal along with the applicable supporting documents. Applicants must submit their current transcripts, one optional essay, and an optional letter of recommendation. The parent or guardian of the applicant, WHO is required to be a full or part-time employee of an hca healthcare affiliate, must provide his or her full legal name, hca healthcare facility/location, 3-4 ID, and the financial information provided from the student's free application for federal student aid (fafsa) student aid report (sar) or other recognized financial documentation (if being considered for a financial need-based award). Deadlines

Scholarship applications are accepted from mid-January through early March.

Restrictions

Scholarships must be used for full-time study (minimum of 12 hours) at an accredited, not-for-profit u.s. Two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year. Online programs meeting the aforementioned requirements are accepted.

The healthier tomorrow fund invites applications based on recommendations from corporate and regional colleagues in our communities, along with national and local community partners. Invitations to apply will be extended to eligible 501(C)(3) nonprofit organizations.

Restrictions

The healthier tomorrow fund supports evidence-informed programs that address high-priority community needs and advance community health by supporting efforts to pilot, replicate, and scale meaningful, measurable initiatives in communities where hca healthcare has a presence. Refer to the middle tennessee fund for restrictions on the foundation's giving. In addition, as a matter of policy, the foundation does not ordinarily support organizations involved in research, sports, environmental, wildlife, civic and international affairs through the healthier tomorrow fund.
