The Automated Permitting Systems Demonstration NOFO is intended to support jurisdictions that will deploy automated building code permitting systems and partner with HUD to evaluate their applicability and effectiveness within real-world operating conditions. This demonstration will test the real-world deployment of an automated permitting platform within a government permitting environment to evaluate its effects on processing timelines, workflow efficiency, staff roles, and applicant experience. The demonstration will generate empirical evidence on operational performance, costs, governance needs, and potential cost savings to inform broader adoption by state and local jurisdictions.

The EPA’s South Florida Program supports projects within the 16 counties that overlap with the South Florida Water Management District. Demonstration projects that generate tangible and practical results through applied science frameworks that seek to advance and scale future interventions will be prioritized. Projects should also include scientifically and statistically rigorous studies, surveys, research, investigations, or pre- and post-monitoring data collection and dissemination where appropriate, to effectively evaluate project outcomes and develop subsequent research questions that inform and improve decision making by the Agency and its partners working to restore water quality and aquatic habitat within the South Florida ecosystem.

NMFS, in coordination with the New England Fishery Management Council (Council), is soliciting proposals under the Scallop RSA Program. Projects funded under the Scallop RSA Program must enhance the knowledge of the scallop fishery resource or contribute to the body of information on which scallop management decisions are made. Priority will be given to proposals that investigate research priorities developed by the Council, which are detailed under the Program Priorities section of this announcement Successful applicants will be awarded scallop RSA quota. No federal funds are provided for research under this notification. Rather, proceeds generated from the sale of RSA quota will be used to fund approved activities and compensate scallop vessel owners.
